Abstract
The seminars covered the following topics: (1) A.I.D."s concept of and policy and priorities for institutional development; (2) some practical problems in the design and implementation of A.I.D"s. policy; (3) the World Bank"s approach to institutional development and development administration; (4) the role of public management in institutional development; (5) analytic tools for institutional design; (6) reforming the management of international agricultural research; (7) cultural and human resource issues for effective use of technology; (8) financial management impacts on developing nations" institutions; (9) public enterprises and the search for efficiency; (10) privatization in practice; (11) the requisite environment for privatization; and (12) a summing up and final thoughts. A 2-page bibliography is included.
