The establishment of a marketing information clearing warehouse (to be called Integrated South Sudan Agricultural Trade Information Network (ISSATIN)) can easily be achieved.
Guvele, Cesar A. · 2006
Abstract
ISSATIN would have the responsibility to manage and coordinate the collection, analysis, and dissemination of market information. An efficient market information network would make markets more transparent and enable them to respond to demand and supply conditions. It would introduce some stability and linkages in the fragmented markets of South Sudan. It would also link the markets of South Sudan to those of East and Central Africa through linkages within the Association for Agricultural Research in East and Central Africa (ASARECA). Startup funding should come from USAID for a period of three years. Its management would fall under the South Sudan Center for Census, Statistics and Evaluation (SSCCSE), from where should receive an annual sustainability funding. (Author abstract)
