The paper presents and discusses the analyses of policy experiments conducted with models of the Nigerian cattle production and distribution sectors.
Kellogg, E. D. · 1970

Abstract
The production sector was modeled using systems simulation techniques, while the distribution sector is analyzed using linear and quadratic mathematical programming techniques. This report is focused on the results of the experiments and does not contain detailed descriptions of the models utilized. Experiments were conducted on these computer models to investigate the likely consequences through time of alternative investment programs that might be implemented in the northern Nigerian cattle sector. The time span considered is the 25-year period from 1971 through 1995. The focus of these models is the cattle industry located in the northern part of Nigeria.
