OPG to enable the Kenyan Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) to upgrade its financial and organizational capabilities, improve its services to member credit cooperatives, and strengthen its financial position.

Abstract
TA will be provided by the World Organization of Cooperative Credit Unions (WOCCU). KUSCCO will: improve its management systems for planning, personnel, office management, and information and reporting; implement a financial management/capitalization system (covering procedures for accounting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, billing, collection, etc.); hire a chief accountant, a field services manager, a bookkeeping center coordinator, and a supply officer; and improve services to member societies (in bookkeeping, risk management, supplies, education and training, and publicity). KUSCCO will also study the feasibility of modifying/developing member services in such areas as risk management, collection, and audit. A projected second phase effort will act on the results of these studies. By project end, share capital in KUSSCO will have quintupled and vastly increased numbers of member cooperatives will be utilizing KUSCCO services.
