USAID. MISSION TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Project to support an expanded program of immunization (EPI) in the Dominican Republic.
1987

Abstract
The project, which represents a buy-in to the LAC Bureau Accelerated Immunization Program (Projects 5980643 and 5970005), will be implemented by the Secretariat of State for Public Health and Social Welfare (SESPAS) with TA from the Pan American Health Organization. The project will ensure that SESPAS has adequate facilities and resources for carrying out an effective EPI program by financing the purchase of vaccines and cold chain equipment and covering operating and maintenance costs. PAHO will provide TA in training EPI personnel and in carrying out a public information campaign. The impact of the EPI program will be evaluated.
