The Media for Transparent and Accountable Governance (M-TAG) program aims to provide the public with independent, reliable, and accurate information relevant to Georgia's governance.

Abstract
The program is implemented by IREX in partnership with local organizations Transparency International – Georgia, Ethics Charter, and Innova. The program's objectives are to have journalists demonstrate accurate reporting on public interest issues, including progress towards key reforms, and to have regional media outlets demonstrate improved financial viability and transparency. The program also aims to increase access to relevant information in occupied territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. During the reporting quarter, IREX worked with all 15 media outlets, individually and in group activities. The program's activities included providing training in web development, editorial skills, and editorial management. IREX also supported the Multmedia Center (MEC) in hosting university classes and a Georgian-Armenian partnership project. The program's monitoring and evaluation specialist collected data on media outlets' content quality, including editorial quality, accuracy, and objectivity. The specialist also prepared a GIS report on training database information, including trainings implemented, participants, and locations. IREX supported the M-TAG team members with detailed monitoring information on individual partners for management purposes. The program's activities were coordinated with the Media for Transparent and Accountable Governance (M-TAG) program's goals and objectives.
