GLOBAL HEALTH INITIATIVE (U.S.)
The United States (U.S.)

Abstract
has launched a new global development policy. For Malawi, the policy objectives, operational model and architecture will be articulated in the Development Strategy of the U.S. Government (USG) Mission in Malawi, and implemented through three major initiatives globally: Feed the Future (FtF), the Global Health Initiative (GHI) and the Climate Change Initiative. The pillars of this new policy initiative are economic growth, innovation, public sector capacity, tailored strategies, and accountability. Execution of this policy hinges on the following elements: (1) selectivity; (2) country ownership and responsibility; (3) division of labor; (4) leverage of private investments; (5) strengthened multilateral capabilities; and (6) analysis of impact. This document articulates a new multi-year strategy for support to the health and health"s related sectors of Malawi to be implemented under GHI. (Author abstract, modified)
