Abstract
The UN Conference Secretariat requested that each UN country prepare a National Paper. A multidisciplinary team comprised of experts in agriculture and engineering from Cornell University worked on the Afghan paper. The team, working in Afghanistan itself, was assisted by the Afghan nationals. The multidisciplinary effort was productive and provided a catalyst for the creation of a National Council for Science and Technology for Development in Afghanistan and the organization of a National Seminar on Science and Technology for Development. Work was completed on August 1, 1978.
