NATIONAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT

The GOC"s National Planning Department (DNP) will implement this project through its National Development Fund (FONADE). FONADE will procure the services of qualified technical experts and seek contracts with commercial firms, non-profit institutions or individuals, and/or with agencies and departments of the U.S. Government, to provide long- and short-term participant training for its personnel in designing, planning, and implementing development projects. Training will be both academic and professional and will be ordered to activities of the GOC"s National Plan for International Technical Cooperation in the areas of agriculture, natural resources, regional and urban development, industry, and education. BG contracts will be subject to prior approval of USAID/Colombia. This project will also enable Colombian Governmental agencies to assume an increasing degree of responsibility in the planning and administration of foreign development resources.
