In addition, A.I.D. policy regarding the procurement and use of pesticides will be assessed and an overall A.I.D. pest management strategy formulated. (PD-AAC-980-D1) Amendments, extending the project through 3/31/80, provide for futher pest control workshops and short-courses, short-course evaluations, a registry of pesticide management consultants, a reference library, a pest management newsletter, and a pesticide residue analysis program. (PD-AAC-980-F1) Project Amendment No. 6 of 3/21/80 provides a 2-month unfunded extension of the project (through 5/31/80) and a 5-year funded extension to 5/31/85. The extended project will provide Missions and LDC"s with U.S. and in-country short courses, workshops, and seminars in the areas of pest and pesticide management and professional TA in designing and implementing integrated pest management pilot and related projects, including assistance in procuring or using pesticides.
