USAID. MISSION TO PHILIPPINES
Project to construct a 10.5 MW geothermal electric power generation facility at Tiwi, Albay, in Southern Luzon, the Philippines, along with 317 km of 69 KV transmission lines and required substations.
1973
Abstract
The National Power Corporation of the Philippines (NPC) will implement the project. Six NPC technicians will receive approximately 6 months of on-the-job training at U.S. geothermal facilities. The power plant and transmission system will assist in the electrification of the Southern Luzon provinces of Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorgoson, connecting these areas to the Luzon Grid system. Amendment of 9/30/77 eliminates the planned 10.5 MW power generation facility (the NPC has decided to construct a higher-capacity facility -- not funded under this project -- at Tiwi). The project is now limited to constructing 360 km of 69 KV transmission lines and related substations in Southern Luzon. (PD-ABA-592)
