Abstract
The actual location of the study area was in Suphan Buri Province, some 100 kilometers northwest of Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 153 rural households in six villages cooperated in the study. Forty of the rice farms were located in a deep water, broadcasted area where floating rice varieties are grown. The remaining 93 rice farms were in a transplanted rice area where many farmers were growing the new high-yielding rice varieties. The authors provide summary tables on the following topics: table of farms; planted area and varieties grown; farmers growing new varieties; area and variety planted for the 1970 and 1971 seasons. They include summary discussions of high yielding varieties, other new rice technology, research and costs of production.
