Pressures on Europe"s common agricultural policy

Three case studies are discussed. These include a description of the political activities behind the 1985 EC price package; a deeper analysis of the interaction at the national level that led to the reform of the EC cereal policy regime in 1986, with particular emphasis on the roles of French actors; and identification and discussion of the political pressures regarding French exports of wines and spirits to the United States.
