Abstract
It was established that acceptable levels of productivity could be obtained by a chemoprophylactic drug (Samorin) strategy in areas of high tsetse fly incidence. The average productivity level per unit of cow"s metabolic weight was about 80% of that of Boran cattle in a tsetse-free environment, and 35% greater than in cows tolerant to trypanosomes that were raised in a tsetse fly infested area without medication. Appended is a 67-item bibliography (1960-84). (Author abstract, modified)
