Abstract
BBF was responsible for packaging and shipping, while receiving agencies directed internal distribution. The project was successful, especially in view of the economic returns achieved ($700,000 from A.I.D. realized returns of approximately $24 million). BBF was particularly effective in providing medical equipment to numerous health centers and hospitals across Jamaica. The project demonstrated that a program of this nature is cost-effective. Through the collaboration of the private sector, statutory bodies, the Jamaican government, and A.I.D., BBF maximized limited resources with minimum supervision to provide commodity support to three principal sectors for a protracted period of time.
