PACR of a project (1983-1989) to support community self-help efforts in the Dominican Republic by financing small Peace Corps activities.
1990

Abstract
The project objective was achieved to a great extent, and relations between the Peace Corps and Dominican community institutions have been enhanced. Most activities were in the areas of health, education, animal husbandry, agriculture, fisheries, and business. Popular demand for the activities grew as the project became more widely known in rural communities. Interest in health-related activities was especially strong, requiring an amendment to the original agreement to include them in the project. Counterpart contributions made up about 25% of total project funding, and were used mainly to cover labor and administrative costs.
