USAID. MISSION TO TANZANIA
Presents final Mission report (9/79-4/82) on a project to provide dispensary and classroom facilities in the Kagara Region of Tanzania.
Burdick, John R. · 1983
Abstract
Despite considerable logistical difficulties, especially materials shortages and remoteness of construction sites, two dispensaries (each with a staff house, pit latrine, and incinerator) and 22 classrooms were completed as proposed, lacking only some finishing touches and the fixing of window glass. Project success is attributed largely to the dedication of regional and district development directors and the regional engineer. The project has made educational and health facilities available to substantial numbers of rural Tanzanians uprooted by the war with Uganda.
