USAID. MISSION TO AFGHANISTAN
Project to promote rural development in selected areas of Afghanistan.
1975

Abstract
The project, which will be implemented by the Afghan Rural Development Department (RDD), will have two components. The first is to construct, on a fixed cost reimbursement basis, 80 irrigation structures (affecting 30 acres), 25 bridges, and 100 km of farm-to-market roads. Road construction activities will generate 200,000 workdays of unskilled labor. The second component is to test an integrated rural development program in three districts in three provinces, with consideration given to education, health delivery, cooperatives, small industries, and credit.
