Abstract
The team created 16 monthly formative tests for mathematics, which were sent to printers. Additionally, they revised standards, pacing guides, and monthly formative tests for grades 10-11 to ensure coherence with national standards. The team also supported the item bank team during the analysis of results and elaboration of reports from the 2008 administration. Furthermore, they planned and developed workshops at the national level for training in the use and importance of standards, pacing guides, and monthly formative tests for grades 7-11 in coordination with the Ministry of Education, MIDEH/NGO's, and GTZ. However, the team faced time constraints, which led to a reorganization of the schedule for summative test elaboration in the next quarter (April-June). They also reviewed specifications for summative tests for grades 1-9 and developed new items for summative tests for grades 1-9, an average of 80 items per grade, totaling 750 items. The Spanish Language Technical Team at MIDEH-AIR/EQUIP 1 in Honduras focused on developing monthly formative tests for grades 10-11, including the fourth semester proposed by MIDEH/AIR. They prepared and sent monthly formative tests for grades 10-12 to printers and designed teacher's manuals for monthly formative test administration for grades 7-11. The team also defined the structure of summative tests for grades 10-11 and developed items for summative tests in Spanish for grades 1-11. However, they faced time constraints, which led to a delay in the development of items for summative tests in Spanish for grades 1-11. The IT team at MIDEH-AIR/EQUIP 1 in Honduras focused on installing computers, printers, and scanners for the item bank unit and coordinating the purchase of new antivirus software and RAM memory for laser printers. They also repaired damaged computers and configured computers for temporary personnel assigned to design and layout units and the item bank unit. The team updated every machine with the new antivirus software and Servipack 3 and coordinated the purchase of one extra line for internet connection. However, they faced issues with the electrical system, which led to IT troubles, and many viruses were detected in users' equipment. The Editing and Graphic Design team at MIDEH-AIR/EQUIP 1 in Honduras focused on editing and coordinating the graphic design of standards for grades 10-11 in Spanish and mathematics, pacing guides for Spanish language and mathematics grades 10-11, and standards for Natural Sciences and Social Studies for grades 1-9. The team also edited and coordinated the illustration and graphic design of formative tests and teacher's manuals for Natural Sciences and Social Studies for grades 1-9 and the monthly formative tests and teacher's manuals for Spanish and Mathematics for grades 10-11. However, they faced issues with the availability of texts for test production, which delayed the completion of formative tests for grades 1-2. The Item Bank team at MIDEH-AIR/EQUIP 1 in Honduras generated reports for each school and class section for grades 1-9, processed PROHECO data and alternative programs data, and documented the test administration process for 2008. They also loaded 2008 statistics for each item into the item bank and worked with technical teams for the selection of items based on statistical criteria for summative tests in 2009. The team collected enrollment data for educational centers selected in the 2009 sample and generated reports for each school and class of PROHECO and alternative programs. However, they faced issues with the availability of data, which delayed the completion of reports for some schools and classes.
