Abstract
The purpose of the paper is to provide guidelines on basic data gathering necessary for the design and implementation of range/livestock projects applicable to social and environmental conditions encountered in the beef producing areas of Africa. The paper covers suggested basic data gathering, project planning, development, implementation and administration range/livestock projects. Work on this paper has been accomplished by staff members of the Office of Development Services, Bureau of Africa in AID"s Washington headquarters under the direction of Mr. Princeton Lyman.
