Kolyada, Lena; O"Sullivan, Gael · 2012

Abstract
It summarizes Russia"s reproductive health context, including its market and policy environments, focusing primarily on oral contraceptives, and highlights the major findings of formative research conducted during the assessment. Key informant interviews with doctors and pharmacists, along with consumer focus groups, yielded insights into knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and barriers related to the use of hormonal contraception. This brief offers several recommendations to strengthen the enabling environment and expand access to and the use of commercial contraceptives to protect women’s reproductive health in Russia.
