SMALL SCALE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Four regional development organizations (CIDERE"s) have become self-sustaining entities and are functioning well. Employment has been created for 9000 people. Project modified as a result of creation of CIDERE VII; also, a proposal has been made to redistribute funds. Lessons learned include need to allow CIDERE"s to assume their own growth patterns. Self-financing of CIDERE"s also discussed -- with no concrete decisions reached.
