Climate change vulnerability assessments are increasingly used to identify potential climate change impacts and identify and prioritize climate change adaptation options to reduce these impacts, moderate harm or exploit beneficial opportunities of existing and emerging climate change-related hazards and resulting stressors.

Abstract
Ultimately, the effectiveness of a CCVA is measured by the extent to which: (1) it is designed and executed to answer clearly articulated questions; (2) its results are specific and actionable; and (3) those results are strategically and specifically applied to CCA programming. In this report, the USAID Climate Change Adaptation, Thought Leadership and Assessment (ATLAS) activity examines the approaches taken in USAID CCVAs and identifies good practices to help design CCVAs effectively, obtain useful results and assure that those results are reflected as specific CCA interventions in USAID programming.
