Abstract
This study analyzes cassava economics worldwide, drawing on a variety of data sources, including case studies. Chapters 1 and 2 are, respectively, a summary and an introduction. Chapter 3 presents the current situation and past trends in the area, yield, and production of cassava and in its use in different regions and subregions. Chapter 4 considers the factors influencing the use of cassava for food and feed, while Chapter 5 discusses the potential yield of cassava. Chapter 6 presents scenarios of projected cassava output and use in the year 2000. Chapter 7 concludes by summarizing the policy implications and conclusions of the study. (Author abstract, modified)
