USAID grant to the Agricultural Cooperative Development International to assist in the planning, development and establishment of self-sustaining, financially viable, properly managed agricultural cooperatives and farm credit systems

The grant will fund 5 major ACDI activities: (1) consultation, evaluation, project identification, and policy guidance on cooperative and farm credit problems; (2) extended field consultation and drafting of project proposals; (3) project initiation, including recruitment of TA personnel and contract negotiation; (4) administrative services, including workshop/training program arrangement and budget preparation; and (5) ACDI member relations. ACDI is expected to develop 2-3 OPG"s or collaborative project proposals and 2-4 contract proposals per year; recruit 10-20 advisors per year; arrange U.S. on-the-job training programs for 5 individuals or groups in the first year, 10 in the second, and 15 in the third; arrange and conduct 1 overseas cooperative management workshop per year; and produce bimonthly newsletters, annual reports, and other publications.
