The Civic Engagement Project in Macedonia continued to support 17 civil society organizations (CSOs) and CSO alliances during the reporting period of July 1 – September 30, 2018.

Abstract
These organizations implemented country-wide advocacy initiatives focused on various issues, including anti-corruption, fiscal decentralization, judicial reforms, community development, social entrepreneurship, youth development, and youth employment. The project grantees engaged 3152 citizens in their activities, with 1455 men, 1510 women, and 127 individuals who did not respond. Examples of the grantees' accomplishments include PUBLIC's Comparative Analysis on Social Enterprises Report, which was used to advocate with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies (MLSP) to develop the Strategy for Social Entrepreneurship. The MLSP accepted PUBLIC's proposal and included the Strategy for Social Entrepreneurship in its work. The project also continued to support the development of CSOs through capacity development assistance, including organizational capacity assessments, advocacy capacity assessments, and capacity development plans. Additionally, the project provided technical assistance to CSOs to enhance their capacity to engage in advocacy and policy influencing. The Civic Engagement Project's grantees also engaged in various activities to promote civic engagement and participation in local decision-making. For example, the Association for Research, Communications, and Development (PUBLIC) organized a Comparative Analysis on Social Enterprises Report, which was used to advocate with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies (MLSP) to develop the Strategy for Social Entrepreneurship. The project's grantees also worked to promote youth development and employment opportunities for marginalized groups. For example, the Association for Education Mladiinfo International (Mladiinfo) organized a youth civic engagement award under the project, which aimed to promote youth participation in civic activities and decision-making processes. The Civic Engagement Project's grantees also engaged in various activities to promote gender equality and employment opportunities for marginalized groups. For example, the Association for Emancipation, Solidarity, and Equality of Women (ESE) organized a gender equality platform under the project, which aimed to promote gender equality and women's empowerment in Macedonia. The project's grantees also worked to promote community development and social entrepreneurship in Macedonia.
