Evidence for Strengthening Rule of Law in LMICs: Insights from an Evidence Gap Map

The report presents an Evidence Gap Map (EGM) that synthesizes the existing evidence on what works to strengthen Rule of Law, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The EGM includes over 700 studies, with a focus on interventions and outcomes related to systems, services, and society. The report highlights the gaps in the existing evidence, including the limited number of high-quality impact evaluations in low- and middle-income countries, and the need for more research on non-crime and longer-term outcomes. The report also identifies promising areas for future research, including selection and certification process reform, professional association capacity building, and support to civil society and the media.
