Abstract
The study is part of research addressing enterprise viability and sustainability questions, for which the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Partnerships and Learning for Sustainability (WASHPaLS) project conducted retrospective studies in partnership with mature market-based sanitation (MBS) programs in India (state of Bihar), as well as Cambodia and Nigeria. It presents research findings and recommendations directed at MBS program implementers to help improve the viability and sustainability of the sanitation enterprises they support.
