Abstract

The report provides an overview of the current status of solid waste management in the Philippines, including national laws and regulations, solid waste generation and characterization, collection, aggregation and processing, markets and end-uses for plastics, and disposal. The report also presents an assessment of the current status of 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and solid waste management in four engagement sites: Batangas City, Iloilo City, Las Piñas City, and Pasig City. The report aims to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for the implementation of sustainable and integrated waste management systems in the Philippines.
