Abstract
The project, implemented by the Center for Environment & Community Research (CECR), aimed to promote waste recycling and management in Da Nang, Vietnam's fifth-largest city. The project focused on scaling up women-led plastic recycling, establishing a community-based recycling model, and promoting waste segregation and recycling among households, fishing boat crews, market vendors, schools, and hotel and restaurant owners. The document presents the project's achievements, including the involvement of over 21,000, 1,500 fishing boat crews, and 300 market vendors, as well as the reduction in waste transportation and landfill costs. It also highlights the project's impact on the community, including the empowerment of women and the replication of the model in other parts of the city and other coastal provinces.
