Urban Health and Care-Seeking Behavior: Slums in India and the Philippines

The report examines the health needs and care-seeking behavior of poor slum residents in Indore, India, and greater Manila, Philippines. It presents findings from a qualitative investigation and an analysis of urban data from two recent Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) for India and the Philippines. The report covers various topics, including general health-seeking behavior, family planning, maternal health, child health, tuberculosis, domestic violence, and environmental health and hygiene. It also includes recommendations for interventions targeting the urban poor.
