Urban Resilience Planning in Secondary African Cities: Mozambique Case Study

It is a report prepared for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and explores the implementation of USAID's Sustainable Service Delivery in an Increasingly Urbanized World Policy. The study provides 11 key lessons learned from USAID's Mozambique Coastal City Adaptation Project (CCAP), which aimed to support municipal resilience in three coastal cities. The lessons cover topics such as the importance of situational analyses, partner management, ecosystem services, mainstreaming resilience into city development goals, and budget linkages. The report highlights the need for a long-term perspective, coordination with provincial and national-level programs, and alignment with local development goals to achieve sustainable urban resilience.
