This document is a report on climate risks in urban areas of Madagascar, specifically focusing on the Food for Peace (FFP) geographies.
2018

Abstract
It provides an overview of the country's climate profile, including temperature and precipitation trends, and highlights the impacts of climate change on urban areas, such as increased flooding, heatwaves, and water scarcity. The report also examines the intersection of urbanization and climate risks, including the proliferation of informal settlements, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to basic services. Case studies of four cities in Madagascar (Tuléar, Maroantsetra, Tsihombe, and Antananarivo) are presented, highlighting specific vulnerabilities and risks in each city. The report aims to inform urban planning and development strategies that take into account climate risks and promote resilience in Madagascar's urban areas.
