Abstract
It highlights the issue of ocean plastic pollution in Sri Lanka, where only 1 in 5 people have access to waste collection services, resulting in plastic waste ending up in canals and rivers and eventually the ocean. The document describes a partnership between USAID and the MAS Foundation for Change, which aims to reduce ocean plastic pollution by installing ocean strainers or floating trash traps in Sri Lankan canals to capture plastic and other trash before it flows into rivers and the sea.
