Abstract
The brief presents findings from a multi-country secondary analysis of data from Service Provision Assessments and Demographic and Health Surveys. The study explores the rates of CS, the contribution of the private sector to CS rates, and the quality of care provided in both public and private sector health facilities. The brief highlights the implications of the study for programs, future research, and policy changes to improve the quality of care for women and newborns.
