Abstract
The report is part of the USAID Advancing Nutrition program, which aims to improve the nutritional status of women and children in the Kyrgyz Republic. The report presents the findings of a formative assessment carried out in Batken Oblast from March 10 to 21, 2020. The assessment aimed to complement the 2014 SPRING project, with an additional exploration of gender roles related to nutrition. The report provides an overview of the project's objectives, methodology, and key findings, including family roles and responsibilities, perceptions and practices related to maternal care and diets, child growth, and infant and young child feeding, as well as access to resources and hygiene practices. The report will inform the project's Social and Behavior Change strategy, Gender Action Plan, and partners' training.
