Abstract
The report aims to identify the barriers and facilitators to pregnant women taking iron-folic acid supplements during pregnancy. The research was conducted in January 2011 as part of the Infant & Young Child Nutrition (IYCN) Project, which is a flagship project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The report provides an overview of the problem of anemia in Madagascar, the background of the research, and the methodology used. It also presents the findings of the research, including the perceived susceptibility, severity, action efficacy, social acceptability, self-efficacy, cues for action, and perceived divine will of the women participating in the program. The report concludes with recommendations and lessons learned from the research.
