Key Actors in Food Fortification in Honduras: A USAID Report

The report aims to identify key actors involved in food fortification programs and micronutrient deficiencies in Honduras. It presents the results of interviews with 18 companies and organizations and 42 individuals from various sectors, including the public and private sectors, academia, and consumer organizations. The findings highlight the importance of food fortification, the need for updated information on micronutrient deficiencies, and the importance of capacity building for human resources in institutions involved in food fortification programs. It also recommends the implementation of mandatory fortification of certain foods, such as corn flour, and the need for coordination among different actors to ensure the success of food fortification programs.
