USAID, USAID Nawiri · 2022

Abstract
The brief highlights the importance of investing in strong and resilient community health systems to improve and maintain nutrition and health outcomes, particularly in the context of shocks and stresses. It presents five key insights from the project's research and learning agenda, including the potential of family-led mid-upper arm circumference (FL-MUAC) and integrated community case management-community-based management of acute malnutrition (iCCM-CMAM) to strengthen resilience capacities, the need to address systemic dysfunctionalities impeding the ability of community health volunteers to fulfill their potential, and the importance of better integration and communication across the various tiers of the health system. The brief concludes by outlining priority areas for ongoing learning and adaptation.
