Abstract
The BFHI aims to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding in maternity and newborn facilities. The article describes the process of revitalizing and scaling up in 54 health facilities across the country, the successes and challenges faced, and the lessons learned. It also highlights the need for greater integration of BFHI into Malawi's health system, including improved preservice and in-service trainings for health providers, increased country financial investments in BFHI, and integration of BFHI into national clinical guidelines, protocols, and nutrition and health policies.
