This document is a systematic review of reviews comparing the impacts of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions on anemia and hemoglobin concentrations.
SPRING · 2016

Abstract
The review includes 128 articles, with 96% focusing on nutrition-specific interventions and 2% on nutrition-sensitive interventions. The results show that interventions such as malaria prevention, helminth control, iron and folic acid supplementation, and delayed cord clamping are effective in increasing hemoglobin and reducing anemia in both women and children. However, there is a lack of evidence on the impact of nutrition-sensitive interventions on anemia. The review aims to provide policy makers and practitioners with a comprehensive overview of the evidence base to inform decisions on anemia prevention and control.
