Abstract
It provides guidelines for choosing the appropriate measurements and indices, such as height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and body mass index (BMI), to classify nutritional status and determine management strategies. The tool includes a table outlining the measurements and indices to use for different age groups, as well as the corresponding classification criteria for severe acute malnutrition (SAM), moderate acute malnutrition (MAM), normal, overweight, and obesity.
