Abstract
It is intended for USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)-funded Resilience and Food Security Activities (RFSAs) and focuses on the refinement period. The note covers the importance of formative research, tips for conducting research within the refinement period, and the research design process, including articulating a problem statement, preparing a research justification, determining key research objectives, and developing research questions. The document also provides considerations for each step of the process and examples from RFSA implementing partners.
