USAID Evaluation of Nurturing Care Activity for Early Childhood Outcomes in Mozambique: Baseline Report

The report presents the baseline findings of a study that aims to assess the effectiveness of an integrated nurturing care package in improving early childhood development outcomes. The study was conducted in 12 districts in Nampula province, Mozambique, and involved 961 caregiver-child dyads. The report presents the study's methodology, findings, and conclusions, including the high rates of children at risk of developmental delay, sub-optimal home environments, and depressive symptoms among caregivers. The report also validates the use of the Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) as a measure of children's development.
