ASIAN VEGETABLE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER (AVRDC)
Detailed reports are presented on the research conducted during 1983 at the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center (AVRDC) in Taiwan.
1985

Abstract
The reports cover horticultural and legume crop programs, and nutrition, environment, and crop management activities. The horticultural crops program reports cover the breeding, pathology, entomology, and physiology of tomato, Chinese cabbage, and sweet potato. (Chinese cabbage physiology is omitted.) Reports on the legume crops program embrace the same topics for mungbean and soybean plantings. The nutrition, environment, and management section includes articles on nutrition chemistry, soil science, crop management, school and home gardens, and research on new vegetables (e.g., peppers, radish, mustard). It is noted that 90 scholars from 17 countries participated in AVRDC training programs in 1983. Germplasm conservation activities and germplasm recipients are reported; seminars and conference/miscellaneous papers are listed, as well as publications available from AVRDC.
