Abstract
The goal is to define priority areas for A.I.D. support to agricultural trade and trade policy in the countries in the ANE region. This paper examines the changing trade patterns within the region and other parts of the world. Additionally, it identifies and examines factors that have contributed to these changes and are likely to contribute to future trade opportunities. This study includes individual commentaries on selected countries chosen to represent a range of sizes and income levels. A range of topics -- basic information, economy, macroeconomic policy environment, agricultural exports, and agricultural food imports -- are discussed in the paper"s profiles of Bangladesh, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Egypt, and Jordan.
