Abstract
Evaluation covers the period 6/79-11/82 and consists of a PES facesheet attached to a special evaluation (XD-AAM-115-A). Action decisions are: (1) extend the project 3 months to 12/14/83 to permit completion of the academic year; (2) hire an audiovisual consultant to help the chief of party inspect and test the recently arrived audiovisual equipment, effect necessary modifications or substitutions, and provide training in its use; (3) appoint an acting director and other staff for the Center for Continuing Education in Agriculture and administer the Center as a separate department of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry; (4) complete Phase I construction, including provision of window glass, repair of the hostel roof, and other details that hamper full utilization of the buildings; (5) review and revise the curriculum for agricultural extension majors at the DAEE to eliminate unnecessary or duplicative course, emphasize village-level field work rather than classroom theory, and reduce the total course load, which is unduly heavy compared to other majors; and (6) strengthen collaboration between contractors for this project and those for the Farmer Training and Production Project, and standardize teaching and training materials used by the contractors.
