AID cooperative agreement no. 521-0182-G-SS-5043-00 with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for systematizing and further developing the groupement technology of small farmer organization

Caritas/Gonaives, CRS"s Haitian counterpart, will implement the subproject and will: (1) define and systematize the groupement (autonomous voluntary associations of small farmers) methodology; (2) continue the development of nonformal education methods in such areas as literacy, farming techniques, and rural economics, based on the groupement approach; (3) design prototypes and provide TA on labor-intensive, low-cost technologies in agriculture, sanitation, etc.; (4) provide technical training to a selected team of Haitians to administer the RDRC; and (5) institutionalize training and related services at the RDRC to teach and disseminate the groupement methodology to communities and other public and private development organizations in Haiti.
