Abstract
The project will undertake activities in three areas: resource mobilization, administrative upgrading, and development programming. To build a sound financial base, NCNW will develop a fundraising plan, recruit a fundraiser, and revitalize its Advisory Board. To improve NCNW management, the project will improve and expand the organization"s headquarters and field staff and develop an operational "skills bank." To expand its programming, NCNW will provide TA/training to various African and U.S. women"s organizations, primarily in the agricultural sector, and establish two twinning relationships over the life of the project and undertake five development activities. A.I.D. will facilitate NCNW institutional development by, inter alia: (1) exploring the possibility of utilizing indigenous NCNW partner organizations in A.I.D.-funded PVO umbrella projects; (2) targeting service opportunities for NCNW in bilateral projects; (3) assisting with proposal writing; (4) disseminating information regarding NCNW to USAID Missions; and (5) providing training to NCNW in project management and institutional development.
