AID cooperative agreement no. CCS-0007-A-00-2019-00 with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs to promote a multi-party system, local government reform and civic education in the New Independent States (NIS) of the former Soviet Union

NDI will address three areas: (1) development of political parties, through seminars and intensive consultations on topics such as party organization and parties" roles in elections, in parliament, and in strengthening civil society; (2) training to strengthen civic organizations working in voter education, citizen responsibility, and responsible governance; and (3) strengthening of local governments through TA and management training (this last activity will be implemented only in Russia and Ukraine). Election monitoring in other NIS countries may be included under the grant.
